Awesome and Amazing
I have to share a few awesome things that happened in the past week! I posted my first blog on Sunday the 4th in which I discussed blessings, and on the 5th I received some amazing blessings! I woke up Monday morning fretting over how I was going to buy Christmas gifts for my family. I was laying in bed thinking about my current finances and worrying about where I would get the money, specifically for my 3 year old's gifts. Now, I know in the grand scheme of things, this may seem like a small, petty worry. A friend on FB posted a picture recently in which starving, emaciated children were shown next to slightly overweight white women pushing shopping carts filled to the brim with toys. I think the caption said something about "Define Necessity" or some such thing. This picture did exactly what it intended and made me stop and think about where my priorities are. However, with that being said, I in my silly, human way still found myself worrying about Christmas and having the money to buy gifts. So, after spending the first 15-20 minutes of my day laying in bed, stressing out, my phone beeps and I have a text message from my former co-worker letting me know I had a mileage check waiting for me! My last day at work was November 11th and I honestly did not expect the company to honor my last submission for mileage reimbursement. I was not holding my breath for that check, and just when my thoughts turned to how I was going to do something, God provided! He is amazing in his infinite wisdom and timing. The second blessing of the day was similar in that I began to think about my financial situation and wonder how I would accomplish something and then, bam, the answer was right there in front of me! I know God is great and can do anything, but even so, I am amazed to see Him at work! I shouldn't be, I know, but He never ceases to surprise me. In additon, to all of this, I am finally getting call backs and interviews scheduled after several weeks of hearing nothing from anyone after applying for what felt like 1,000's of jobs. I am now praying that God opens the right door for me and the job I am offered is the one He intends for me to have. If you're reading this, please pray for me, but also be encouraged. If you are wondering if God can bless your life, the answer is yes! You have to have faith and believe He can. You also have to slow down sometimes and take a close look at what is going on. Sometimes God is blessing us and we dont even know it!
